I tried reading the book. It lead to no clues on how to get home. It was utterly blank, unsurprising seeing how other “Fictionals” have experienced the same. I really hope you people expected otherwise — that somehow I would break the pattern that I’ve seen you discussing. I am glad that you are working in a way to return me home… but know that I will be most displeased if you were deliberately wasting my time. Do not test my patience.
If you have a book to recommend that details how I could travel from one world to another, make sure the book actually contains such travel. And, more importantly, make sure it’s one I can read.
Well, you could always watch Sliders, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sliders
I can hardly help you when it comes to literature, but I think The Inkworld Trilogy may interest you.
I’ve also read The Dark Tower which has the fictional universes as a plot point, but I think it’s too different from your situation to be useful (and too long).
Crud, we had a feeling this would happen.
You are not the first of the people from another world to indicate that you could not read the etxt from whihc, to our mind, your being originated. All the other fictionals expressed the exact same problem. So if nothing else, you\’ve confirmed a theory.
We\’re working on the possible getitng you home plan. Try not to troll the forums.
Oh well. Blank book, we somewhat expected that outcome… On the topic of travel between worlds, you could read The Chronicles of Narnia… If nothing else I suppose you’d enjoy judging how well the Ice Queen plays her role as the evil witch of the story. And the kids do travel between Earth and Narnia, so there might be something of interest for the research.
The Chronicles of Narnia involve a witch, and other worlds. Start with “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” and then read “The Magician’s Nephew.” The latter involved the “wood between the worlds” that allowed inter-verse travel.
I’m sorry to have mislead you. While reading these books might not directly help you get home, we felt that information about what you see when you look at them might help us understand the situation better. And if we have a better idea of what happened to you and the other fictionals, we have a better chance of figuring out how to send you home.
I understand if you no longer want to participate in this line of experimenting, but if you’re willing to indulge us further, I would like to know what happens if you try to watch the film of The Wizard of Oz. As far as I know, none of the fictionals have watched the movies based on their stories, and I’m curious about what you see. But if you don’t want to, I won’t press the matter.
I do have a recommendation about a book that includes travels into fictional worlds, however. Jasper Fforde writes many books that deal with this subject. Lost in a Good Book is a good one to pick up for a start. I doubt the techniques described therein would work in this circumstance, but I invite you to try.
I personally would suggest refraining from wild speculation on inter-dimensional travel. Let us wait until we have firmer theories to inform our selection of fiction.
Also, if you want something fast to read, the Fables series by Bill Willingham is a comic series that depicts fairy-tale characters crossing over from “the homelands” into the real world. There’s even a mention of Oz, and one of your flying monkeys is a regular character. Give it a read if you can stand all the goody-two shoes ruining the fun for the villains.
There was a theory we discussed that most of the fictionals. while they claim to have accepted the fact that they are not real, they are in extreme denial. Meaning in your mind, while you claim to accept it your mind says “I’m real it’s these stories that aren’t” So how is a story real if there is nothing written in it, in your point of view.
Since you are accepting new ideas… There was a movie where the main character left this world after taking a red pill of unspecified nature. I’m not really suggesting that you should do that, it may get you in trouble. -_-
I have a suggestion.
There is one film I know of that pertains to interdimensional travel. It is a curious film, to be certain, but it has told me everything I need to know when traveling through dimensions. The film is titled \”Phineas and Ferb: Across the Second Dimension\”.
From this film I have come to know many things about dimensions and how to hop from one to another. The easiest way to learn these things is to watch the film.
I hope I have been of some service to you.
